Nomination Procedures

Symposium participants are selected via director nomination. Directors may nominate up to 12 students from their program (see below). Nominations may only be submitted by the student's Band or Orchestra Director, nominations cannot be accepted if they are submitted by a student or parent (please encourage your director to submit your name if you are interested). If the student is home schooled, please contact us for alternative solutions.

Directors should submit their nominations by Friday, 15 November at 5pm. Before accessing the nomination form, please gather the following required information from your students:

  • The students' most-frequently checked email (or parent email address)...
  • Any secondary instruments the student can play at a high level...
  • Whether or not the student studies privately...
  • Any previous honor band experience the student may have...

Students and Directors will be informed via email if they are selected to participate in the Symposium, at which point they will be directed to an online registration form to complete the selection process.
