WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

If you enjoy working with young adults and are interested in specializing in a subject area, secondary education is the right career path for you. In the NKU Secondary Education Program, you’ll deepen your subject expertise through a major in your teaching area. Courses in secondary education will prepare you for success in 21st Century high school environments.

The program emphasizes student-centered teaching strategies and effective integration of technology. Working with instructors and peers who are as passionate about teaching as you are, you’ll learn how to design lessons that incorporate research-based instructional strategies, how to engage and motivate today’s students, and how to communicate effectively with parents.
