This micro-credential teaches research and archiving techniques, including artifact handling, preservation, cataloguing, public access and writing for an audience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Use archives as a resource and storage medium for paper and other two-dimensional objects.
  • Understand archive operations.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
  • Prepare archive work plans.
  • Work with the public on archiving projects.

  • HIS 596/696 - Archive Internship
  • HIS 592/692 - Independent Research
